The Theory Of Everything
There probably aren’t too many readers out
there that share my excitement in this, but I am very anxious to see this
film. If you haven’t heard of it or don’t
know what it is about; The Theory of Everything is a new film beginning today
based on the life of Stephen Hawking. You
may remember his book A Brief History of Time that came out in the 1980s. Or, maybe you saw him on The Big Bang
Theory.
In any case, I do not agree with
all of his writings and beliefs, but I do think he is a brilliant man with an
even more brilliant mind. Date nights to
the movies are few and far between these last couple of years, but I’m definitely
pushing for a sitter night so the hubs and I can check this one out (I’m sure
he’s thrilled).

Houndstooth
I went to the mall the other night to
snatch up a scarf that I’ve been dreaming about a little more each day since I
saw it. I walked into the store only to
find that they were “out with the old and in with the new”. Crushed…until I found this houndstooth one I
liked even more. I am a sucker for
anything black & white so I knew I had to have it.
Mr. Brady has quite a few allergies and
very sensitive skin so I make even more of an effort to be cognoscente of my
fabric choices. I purchase and try to
only wear soft and snuggly items whenever possible and this totally fits the
bill.

Make-up Madness
You may have seen on an earlier blog post
that we took a whirlwind trip home last weekend to see some family. As we were getting ready to leave, I threw
some left-overs items into an extra tote I had.
One of the items was my make-up bag.
Unfortunately, during the hustle and bustle of packing that tote didn’t
make it in the car! I absolutely refused
to run out and purchase new make-up so I made due this week with “excess”
make-up I had in my drawers. Luckily my
folks were coming to the city for a party last night and they were able to drop
it off. I feel like a new lady today.
I also want to mention that I have found a
new make-up obsession. I have been an
avid user of Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation since discovering it for
our wedding. It has been the only brand
that has worked with my skin to give me the coverage I need, doesn’t make my
face shine, and lasts all day. Yet, I
think it is a good idea to switch up your products once in a while. That being said I have spent the last couple
of weeks trying samples of some other brands out there. I fell in love with Laura Mercier’s new
foundation. I can’t even tell I’m
wearing make-up but at the same time I have enough coverage to hide those sun
spots (never tan people)! It was more
than I like to spend for foundation but completely worth it as I don’t even
utilize a powder over top. If you are in
the market to try something new to freshen up your make-up routine, give it a
whirl.

All About That Bass
Has everyone heard this song on the
radio? It has a catchy little beat to it
and a couple months back I turned the radio up in the car and Tessa and I had a
little mini dance party. That very
moment changed our lives a bit. She will
ask me to search for that song on the radio or when she hears it she shakes her
little butt.
This past Wednesday was the CMA awards and
one of the opening acts was Miranda Lambert and Meghan Trainor singing this
song together. Tess jumped up from the
dinner table and ran to the living room so she could watch and do a little
dance.
I know, I know, just send me a mother of
the year award right now.
(We do listen to the censored version
though for all those who are curious. Also, pardon the make-shift TV set up while we remodel).

Mama Works
Back in June I was contacted to see if I
had interest in being a part of a new clinic that was opening here in
town. I met with several individuals and
after a few weeks and lots of consideration; I accepted a position as the Lab
Manager at Harbor View Medical.
Harbor View is a Regenexx clinic
that specializes in Interventional Orthopedics by performing autologous stem
cells injections into a sight of injury.
What does this mean? We utilize
your body’s platelets and stem cells, process them, and inject them to the area
that is experiencing pain and/or injury.
Our goal is to help your body heal on its own without you having to miss
work and be laid up due to surgery. It
only makes sense to use your body’s “healing cells” to repair injuries since
they are already in our body, right?
Our
procedures are done in one day (without anesthesia) and you are able to walk
out of the clinic and in most instances even drive yourself home. The results are not typically immediate. However, patients will experience relief and
improvement within 2-6 weeks of their procedure. Since you are using your own body's components, they will continue to heal and regrow tissue for a year and beyond. It is
truly amazing to witness the success that our patients have had at the clinic
thus far.

I'm definitely on The Theory of Everything bandwagon as well! It definitely looks like the type of movie I'd really enjoy. I'm not sure if we'll be able to find time to see it while it's in theaters, but it's definitely one I'll want to see eventually.
