5 on Friday: Go Fund Me

Our background:
I met Holli in 1993.  I was the new girl in school at Brandon Valley.  She befriended me without question, and we have had many great years of friendship together.  I’ll never forget when she met “the new boy.”  Little did I, or our other friends, know that this man would be her soul mate, the love of her life, and the father to her precious children.
Now, more than ever, Holli and her husband Cody need our help.  So many friends and family have been there to support them in the past and are banning together to support them as they face another challenge in life.
Here is their story:
Cody was diagnosed with Grade 3 brain cancer in 2005.  After being in remission for 9 years, Cody’s cancer has returned.  He is now fighting a grade 4 Glioblastoma, the most aggressive and deadly form of brain cancer.  Cody works for the City of Brewster, MN and is married to Holli, who works as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Prairie Elementary in the Worthington, MN school District.  Together they have 3 children; Kaden and Kenley, age 5 and Paxton, age 3.
About a month ago you may remember that I did a blog post asking for prayers for a dear friend of mind and her family.  You can see the original post here.  In addition for asking for prayers, I have set up a GoFundMe page titled “The Finke Family” to help with the expenses of traveling across the country seeking professional medical opinions, medical expenses for treatment, etc.  If you have the ability to donate, I know it would make the world of difference to these parents and their three small babies.  You can access the link here.
Also, there is a local benefit that is scheduled for September 13th for the Finke family in their hometown of Brewster, Minnesota.  One of the fundraisers at this event includes selling t-shirts that say “I wear Grey for Cody.”  If you are interested in purchasing a t-shirt, with all proceeds going to the Finke family, you can access the link below.
Thank you in advance to everyone who takes a minute to donate and/or pray for this family.  If you would like to follow their journey more closely, Holli makes frequent updates on her personal blog called Simply Love.
