1. Brady Boy
If you hadn’t had an opportunity to read my earlier post
from this week, I shared our experience over in Iowa City for Brady’s yearly
kidney procedure. We weren’t given the
news that we were hoping for, but we continue to be optimistic for our little
guy. I am very excited that we did not
have any trips to the ER or a hospital stay following the procedure as has been
our history in the past. Those
preemptive antibiotics really did the trick this time around.

2. Last Weekend Recap
My sister-in-law and niece were in town last weekend and we had such a great time seeing them. The kids hadn’t seen one another in nearly a year. A lot of child development occurs at these young ages in that amount of time, so we were all anxious to see how they would interact with each other. Immediately Tess took to Kenzie and vice versa. I don’t know if it was a girl bond, the fact that they are closer in size than she and Brady, or similarities in character; whatever the case, it was pretty cute. Those two girls were holding hands moments after seeing each other at the airport and the admiration continued through the weekend. Don’t be worried though, Mr. Brady is so chill that he easily played with them too!

We had some fun times playing with toys around the house,
spent hours on the play set, took turns riding Tessa’s four wheeler, picked out
pumpkins and explored the pumpkin patch, did some shopping, enjoyed an outdoor
movie, and made some yummy meals together.
It was an all-around wonderful time!
3. Games

I love playing games; board games, card games, you name it…they’re always a good time. I was cleaning out some totes a couple weeks ago and came across a couple of childhood board games of mine. Tess was interested in looking at them, and later that night I let her choose one to play. She picked Destination Discovery. Did anyone else have this game? It’s weird for me to be in that moment and realize that a game I played when I was her age is now one I’m playing with my own daughter. Honestly, where does the time go?
4. Ba-ba-ba-boots

Fall is here (although not to stay as it is forecasted to be 80 degrees on Sunday) so I broke out the boots for work today. We are sans procedures today in the clinic so I went all comfy for this casual Friday at the office. If you haven’t scored yourself some zella leggings yet, I encourage you to do so. They are the softest leggings I’ve ever worn. I have been utilizing them as a legging, not a workout pant. For you short girls like me, be prepare to roll them under or slouch them. They are quite long.
5. Free Weekend
A small miracle has happened in our household; the hubs has the entire weekend off from work. You read that correctly; a full Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at home. A his station they work 24 hour shifts, every third day meaning that he always will work one of the days of the weekend…our entire lives, ugh. However, he will be making the move from one shift to another and that transition just so happens to be over a weekend. Lucky us! Having a full weekend as a family should make it easy to plan something fun. Since this is a non-existent circumstance for us, we find ourselves confused on what to do. Should we take a weekend road trip? Should we stay home and catch up on projects? Hmmm….the weekend is ours and we are confused on plans. Either way, whatever we decide, I’m sure it will be awesome.
