1. Lighting
Lately I have been really fond of lighting. If we are out and about in Home Depot, Lowes,
etc. I make a point to walk down the aisles to look at different options they
have. I have a few ideas up my sleeve for
some lights that I want to put up in our Dining Room. You know, when we make it that far on our
project list. Aren’t some of these fab?
2.
Contour & Highlight

I am absolutely fascinated by this make-up technique. I can’t believe how utilizing two different
shades of powder, accented against your skin tone, can create such a different
look. This technique can really
transform and accentuate your face. I, unfortunately,
am not very good at applying my make-up but each day I get a little bit
better. I mean really, after 15+ years
you’d think I’d have it down. Anyway, I
have been pinning some instructions lately and have been practicing with my
bronzer. Maybe after a few months I will
be brave enough to add in the highlighter too.
If you have any tips for me, I'm all ears.

Every which way I turn, I am starting to see glimpse of Fall
on the horizon. TV and radio ads are
discussing back to school, stores are moving in their Fall and Halloween décor,
and even the temperatures at night have started to drop a bit. I am in no means ready for summer to be over,
but it does have me thinking ahead. I
saw this article on how to get your rain boots looking fresh and new
again. I will definitely be doing this
in the next couple of weeks so my Hunters are all ready to go.
As a side note, I absolutely love this look. If only I had the stems to pull it off!
4. The Tuck
Here I go again talking fashion, but with the Nordstrom
sale, end of season sales, and prepping for Fall I feel like clothes are all
around me. I love the look of the larger
fitting shirts and tunics. You can leave
them out with jeans and leggings or tuck them in for just the perfect
look. Sometimes I see a trend and think
to myself how easy it would be to pull it off, only to find myself looking
absolutely ridiculous. Here’s hoping I
can get “the tuck” down and not look too silly.
5. Anxiety

I had multiple conversations this week with the staff at the University of Iowa discussing Brady. Our little man has been doing great, kidney wise, but will be going in to the hospital this Fall for his yearly scans, procedure, and meeting with his Urologist. I am already dreading this appointment as we have had awful luck after all previous procedures with hospital acquired infections that have landed Brady in the hospital. But no matter what, it has to be done so here is hoping the day will go smooth, Brady will feel only temporary pain, and we will receive amazing news and forever avoid having to do these tests or surgery again! And, here’s to two more months of fretting about it until we actually go…

I'm so glad to hear that Brady is doing well. I'm sorry about the past difficulties you've had with procedures. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things will go better this time.
