1. Being Kids
There’s just something about a candid photo that brings a
smile to my face. You are able to
capture a moment that will forever bring back a memory of what life was really
like at that time. Here are a couple of snaps
of the kiddos that I love lately. And I’m
sure they will thank me for them one day. ;)
I wanted to share a recipe that I had pinned on my Pinterest account. We made this over the Fourth of July holiday as a new side dish and it received high ratings from family. If you need a fresh idea for something to bring to a BBQ or summer gathering, give this one a whirl.
You can find the recipe here that should direct you to my Pinterest account.
3. Allergy Insanity
ARE NOT FUN
We had a traditional Brady friendly meal on Wednesday
night. We were eating at our high top
table by our sliding patio door. It has
been dreamy here in Iowa with temperatures around 70 and cooling down at
night. We have had fresh air blowing
through the house for the past few days and it’s so nice to have a break from
the humidity. Anyway, while we were
eating B-man kept rubbing his left eye.
Shortly thereafter, large red spots showed up on his chin and left cheek
and his eye was beginning to swell at an exaggerated rate. We immediately put him in the tub, administered
meds, and monitored his breathing. The
reaction was getting worse before it was getting better, spreading to his
scalp, neck, and trunk. David listened
to his chest and I assisted, as best I could, to hold Brady down so we could
look inside his throat. We teetered on
an Emergency Room visit, but since this would make three in the last six weeks
we wanted to hold out if possible. The
reaction definitely got worse before it got better but finally Brady calmed
down and started to show signs of improvement.
We didn’t introduce any new foods which makes this
situation, and 90% of them, very frustrating.
We don’t know if an outside allergen blew through the door and affected
him or if a food that we thought was safe is now problematic. In a few weeks we will visit the allergist
again. Here’s hoping we can target some
more foods, plants, etc. that are harmful to our little turkey.
4. Anniversary Sale
If you haven’t heard all over Instagram, blogs, etc. it is
the Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. We don’t
have a Nordstrom close by but I do order from there quite a bit because I love,
love, love that they have free shipping and returns. You can read countless reviews but when
purchasing clothes and shoes, you never really know how they are going to work
for you until you try them.
Anyway, I have been scoping the online deals and adding
countless items to my wish list. More
than likely I won’t purchase a darn thing, but I love to dream and get an idea
of fashion that is to come for Fall. If
you haven’t looked yet, take a break from your work day and browse – your boss
won’t care. ;)
5. Weekend Happenings
This is David’s weekend off.
Well, sort of. We have huge plans
to do nothing but see where the wind takes us!
We may head to the Farmer’s market, go for brunch or coffee out, take
the kids to the aquatic center, or none of the above. We have a few house projects in the works too
so maybe we will tackle more of those, or maybe we won’t. Ha! That’s the beauty of a weekend with no
concrete plans. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend doing
whatever makes you smile.

I am SO exciting about this anniversary sale! I just posted my wish lost over on my blog.- Seri from www.Serisblog.com
