Weekend Rewind

A smooth and stress free weekend was what I was hoping for and believe it or not, that is exactly what happened.  Friday night was very low-key.  I made a few stops on my way home from work but then it was all about making dinner, movies, and sweat pants.

Check Out Those Curls
Saturday morning we were up early and had our coffee.  There’s just something special about weekend coffee and the fact that you can actually savor it, am I right?  Then we ventured into town to get all our errands out of the way.  We stopped for a light lunch at Olive Garden and then headed home so the kiddos could nap.

We decided to try out a new church as we still haven’t settled on one here in Des Moines.  They offered a Saturday night service and it was so nice to go in the evening and not have to worry about dragging the kids alone on Sunday or having that feeling of guilt for skipping out because “sometimes it just too hard by myself.”  When we got home the weather was still gorgeous so we headed out for a little neighborhood walk to see all the pumpkins and decorations on display.

Sunday morning I relaxed with the kiddos.  Those who know me well know that I can only relax for so long.  I then took it upon myself to deep clean the house yet again (lots of germs between those two kiddos) and organize the pantry.  What a feeling of accomplishment – and I’m pretty quick at doing this these days.  I then packed the kids up and we went to the fire station for a little visit.  We were lucky this time and actually got to hang out for a bit without having daddy drive away in a rush!

Finally, we took a little visit to the mall to release some energy before heading home for dinner and our nighttime routine.

Dare I say the weekend was a success?
