It will never look like those you see in the magazines or in
the entrance to design stores, but to us; our tree is something magical. That’s because each ornament hanging on it has
a memory or special meaning to all or one of us.
I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again and
again, but my family was HUGE on traditions growing up and that is something I
have continued with my kids as well. One
of the many traditions we had as children was my parents gifting us each an
ornament on the night we decorated our Christmas tree. When we were younger, the ornaments resembled
activities or interests we had at the time.
As we grew older, my parents started gifting us traditional Old World Christmas
ornaments to commemorate our European heritage.
Every year when we decorate our tree, I have a mini trip
down memory lane. It takes a bit more
time to place all the decorations as I like to talk about nearly every one of
them, but it is something I look forward to doing each year. I took pictures of some of my favorite
ornaments to share with you today.
