5 on Friday: April 8, 2016

Whoops, I literally just realized today that I never did my Five on Friday last week.  A busy day at work before a birthday weekend had my mind completely off track.  Nevertheless, I’m back today with a few things to share.
1.  Easter Recap
Oh, Easter….how I love you.  I am so sad you are over but the weekend was a great one.  We ventured to my folks house for festivities.  The weather was less than desirable which caused traveling issues for my siblings.  Fortunately, everyone was together for Easter Sunday church and brunch so in the end it all worked out.  Here are some snapshots of our weekend.
Auntie is a hair braiding goddess!  Tess wants her hair braided every day....so Auntie, will you move by us please?

I wish Mr. Brady could have worn his white slacks but the snow made it a bit too chilly!
2.  Headband Obsession
A few years ago, I purchased a grey headband from Lululemon because my sister-in-law swore by them.  I wasn’t sure what to get; the skinny one, the middle size, the full-blown fabric hair tamer.  There were too many choices so I went middle of the road.  I soon found that I loved it and over the last year or so, they’ve become a bit of an obsession.  I enjoy wearing them to work out, but more so I like wearing them with my comfy attire.
About a month ago, I convinced a coworker to give them a whirl.  She purchased two and after a week of wearing them, she decided her head just can’t hold headbands properly (hahaha we all have our issues) and she gifted me those two.  She had purchased a grey one and a green multi-colored one.  I was so excited since I was planning on replacing my grey one soon and because I would have never purchased the green/aqua one on my own.  And you know what, that one is my favorite.  I wear it at least 2-3 times a week!  If you’ve never tried them, maybe just maybe go get yourself a little something.
3.  Sunny Skies
Last summer Miss Tess had to have a pair of sunglasses like her momma.  We finally found the perfect pair and I’m proud to say we still have the same ones!
She was 3 going on 13 here...
These last few weeks, Brady has been seeing them in the stores and always wants to try them on.  Since I’m a huge believer in protecting babies eyes from a very young age (thanks to my optometrist friend) I was all about him showing interest in some specs.  The Easter Bunny brought some new shades for Mr. B. and he wears them all.the.time!

4.  Regulators….
I know I’ve posted about this already but Brady’s Regulators t-shirt came in the mail and I was dying to put him in it!  Here’s a little photo from the weekend.
I still can’t look at that shirt or the photo without Warren G’s voice going through my head.  I’m not sure why this is so hilarious for me….but just bear with! J
5.  Shorts
I hate shorts; always have and probably always will.  We all have that body part that we’re not a fan of.  Mine are my legs.  I have my mom’s thighs and knees and tell her that every time the weather gets warm.  I’m certain she loves the reminder. ;)  Anyway, there are SO many adorable pairs of shorts out there and I want every single one of them!  I was going to link the three pairs I'm eyeing right now but I'm weak when it comes to online purchases in the morning. :)  I think this may just be the summer where I learn to love myself a little bit more.  So warning, the thighs are coming out, ha!

6.  Big Boy
In other news…this is happening at our house (and yes, I promise I style my child's hair).
I’m very conservative when it comes to certain childhood parenting issues.  Potty training is one of them.  For me, what worked best with Tess was waiting until SHE was ready, not when I had time in my schedule to train her.  And you know what, once she displayed full interest, that girl was trained in two days.  Mr. B has shown lots of interest in the potty and asks to go himself sometimes.  So, we broke out the big boy undies (which makes my heart ache) and let him do a test drive.  Seriously….I don’t care if he uses the potty or not; how cute are these briefs!
7.  Motivation

I saw this quote this week, and it was a great example of my life as of late.  The ideas racing through my head are numerous but once my crazy work days are done….I’m done.  The energy level has not been there this week.  Eek, I need a weekend.
8.  Foundation
I find myself in this same spot every few months or so.  Ladies, I love love love my Estee Lauder double wear light foundation but I want to hear from you.  What do you use?  Why do you like it?  What should I try next?  Do I stay with my five year tried and true or branch out to something else that can help hide the wrinkles, lol!
